"Whirled Beat" 10-year-old boy drumming washing machine
"Whirled Beat". Seattle-area boy (age 10 at time of publish) enjoys exploring the undiscovered, percussive sounds of household appliances. He also owns a Pearl drum kit (as well as a Pearl cajon), has been taking lessons for over a year, but is mainly self-taught in general percussion. His main inspirations are Neil Peart and Buddy Rich.
This video has been featured on CNN video, MSN videos, USA Today, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Daily Mail (UK), The Huffington Post, and Time Magazine Online, The Blaze and many others. Jonathan also performed live on the Steve Harvey Show in Chicago (aired April 23, 2013).
If you're a curious washing machine geek, it's a Speed Queen, super-capacity plus, 14-cycle washer with stainless steel drum. Great for reverberation and for getting your socks brilliant white!

I have saved a few of my favorite comments I've gleaned off the internet....
"I would be more impressed to see the kid put some dirty clothes in it and turn it on."
"Heh! Were I to have beaten on the washer back as a kid, even at the talent level of this kid, my mother would have performed her own percussion maneuver on my keester."
"Obviously this kid's parents are the liberal "worldbeat" type who probably sit in a drum circle for breakfast every morning and think they're "elightened" because they enjoy African voodoo drumming and have passed it down to their children."
"It seemed he was wearing a wrist band from a hospital or something. Also, I think his shirt was on backwards. But he's got rhythm"
"his father is the Maytag man"
"Somebody get that boy a drum set. He`s got talent!"
[Reply from another user]: "They can't afford one in this Obama economy"
