Recon Scout Throwbot

Used for years by the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan, this series of tactical surveillance robots manufactured by ReconRobotics was just approved by the FCC for use by local law enforcement agencies in the United States. The robots operate in blocks within the 70cm amateur radio band between 430-448 MHz. Though amateur radio operators are secondary users of this piece of spectrum (primary being military) interference to our operations will be minimal due to the low power output from the robot and controller. However, the interference from amateur radio operators to the robot in an urban environment such as Los Angeles would more than likely be harmful if used in the wrong place and at the wrong time.
