Simple Act of Kindness: Little Boy Pays Off School Lunch Debt

<p><span>Simple act of kindness: student pays off school lunch debt</span><br /><br /><span>You hear a lot about bullying and other social problems in schools.</span><br /><span>But it just takes one student to make a difference.</span><br /><span>Today, we honor third grader Cayden Taipalus as Detroit 2020 Person of the Week. The 8-year-old is a student at Challenger Elementary in Howell.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>Cayden has been collecting donations and taking bottles back to help pay off school lunch debt for some of the students at his elementary school.</span></p> <p><span>Cayden first had the idea for the cause when he witnessed one of his friends get denied a hot lunch because he didn't have enough&nbsp;</span>money on his account.&nbsp;</p> <p><span>If students don't have money, the school will provide an alternate lunch, but Cayden knows that every student feels better when they have a few dollars in their lunch account.</span></p>
